Ott and Terry named Schmiedeskamp’s newest Partners

As we welcome the beginning of 2019, Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu and Mitchell LLP is delighted to announce Joseph B. Ott and Jeffrey L. Terry as its newest partners, helping lead the firm into 2019 and beyond.

Hal Oakley, the firm’s Chairman, said “Joe and Jeff have become valuable lawyers in our firm and have demonstrated a high degree of excellence. We are delighted to welcome them now as partners.”

Ott graduated from Saint Louis University and joined the firm in 2013 . His practice areas include estate and gift tax planning, advising privately-held businesses, and representing community banks. His estate and gift tax planning practice focuses on preparation of sophisticated estate planning documents and administration of estates and trusts. He also advises individual and qualified corporate fiduciaries in trust and estate taxation issues and guides fiduciary administration of trusts and estates. His work with community banks and trust companies includes banking advisory and litigation actions.

Terry graduated Cum Laude from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law school in January of 2014, Terry joined the firm in December of 2013. During the past 5 years at Schmiedeskamp, Terry has established a diversified practice focusing on real estate, business law, transactional matters, and education law. Jeff is a member of the firm’s education law practice group, assisting the firm’s education law clients in a variety of matters

Jeff and his wife, Jessi, live in Quincy and have two children, Madison and Emma, with a third daughter on the way in March. Jeff spends most of his time outside of work with his family. In addition, he enjoys spending his free time reading, writing, and outdoors hunting, and playing tennis.
