Chairmain Covid Statement

As society reopens, we are here to help you!

Since the global pandemic and related economic crisis turned our world upside down beginning in mid-March, we have been working closely with you to address your business and personal legal needs. Much of that assistance has revolved around how to adjust to various States’ shelter-in-place orders and how to navigate legislation such as the CARES Act and other Covid-19 specific laws. Our firm has remained open and functioning in a safe manner for you and our employees knowing you need us in this crisis. Thank you for cooperating with our modified procedures to address social distancing and other precautions. They have worked, and we are pleased to see the progress across our region, nation and world in managing the pandemic.

Now, our society is starting to reopen. We do not know what to expect entirely and the process is unfolding unevenly across our country. Nevertheless, we will continue to be here to help you!

Most of our lawyers, paralegals and staff are working in the office although some continue to work remotely and everyone has the ability to work remotely. We continue to encourage you to use telephone calls and emails for your communication with us during this period, as we defer all face-to-face meetings to a later date unless absolutely necessary. We also have audio and video conferencing ability (i.e. Zoom and Microsoft Teams) that we can use with you to conduct our meetings.

You have likely noticed numerous Covid-19 specific webcasts, newsletters and other communications from our firm since mid-March. We will continue to produce these materials designed to address your special needs related to the pandemic. You may access the resources by clicking here or the yellow button in the upper left-hand corner of the homepage of our website. Our partners David Penn, Natalie Oswald and Jeff Terry have been leading the efforts to produce the materials, and we thank them for their commitment to bring understandable explanations of complex topics promptly throughout the crisis.

As I shared in March, what will not change in these unprecedented times is that we are open for business and committed to take care of you - our clients, colleagues and friends. You can expect the same level of excellent service our firm is known to provide.

Thank you,

Harold B. Oakley
Chairman
