100 years of Schmiedeskamp service

In 1914, the forerunner to the present day Schmiedeskamp law firm moved into its offices in the Mercantile Building at 5th and Maine in downtown Quincy. 

George H. Wilson and H.E. Schmiedeskamp were widely-known Quincy lawyers coming together to form a like-minded firm focused on helping area families and businesses with legal matters.

100 years later, the Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu and Mitchell LLP law firm has grown to a preeminent midwestern law firm handling cases in 44 states as well as Europe and Asia.

The Beginning of Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu & Mitchell LLP

1922

Carl Schmiedeskamp to Join Firm 

Carl Schmiedeskamp joins Wilson and Schmiedeskamp after graduating from the University of  Michigan law school.
1978

Modern Firm

Del Mitchell becomes Managing Partner after joining the firm in 1969.
1992

Growing Practice

In 1992, the SRNM group finished renovation of their new 10,000 square-foot office at 6th and Jersey. The new space converted the former Aldi grocery store into beautiful new offices for the growing firm of 12 lawyers.
1995

Leadership Continues

Del Mitchell is named Chairman of the firm and Bill Keller is named Managing Partner.
2003

Giving Back

In 2003, to celebrate the firm's 90th anniversary, SRNM was the first business entity to establish a permanent endowment fund with a $250,000 donation to the Community Foundation.
2014

Celebrating 100 Years

The Schmiedeskamp firm celebrates its 100th anniversary of legal service growing to a firm of 16 lawyers. The firm donated an additional $100,000 to the fund they established in 2003 with the Community Foundation of Western Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri .

2015

New Generation of Leadership

Hal Oakley was named Chairman of the Schmiedeskamp firm, and Mike Bickhaus named Managing Partner
