PRACTICE AREAS : Corporate & Business Transactions, Real Estate, Education Law
As a partner with the firm, Jeff has a diversified and growing practice focusing on agricultural law, land use law, real estate, business law, transactional matters, and education law. He facilitates and represents clients in a variety of commercial, agricultural, and residential real estate transactions, including public and private auctions. He also advises closely-held and family-owned businesses in a range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset sales, governance and entity maintenance, and business succession planning.
Over the years, Jeff has developed extensive experience representing private property owners in a variety of land use related issues in Illinois and Missouri, including public and private easements, conservation easements, leases, license agreements, land-use agreements, and condemnation/eminent domain matters. He has successfully represented clients in land use matters ranging from roadway projects, high voltage transmission line projects, solar farms, wind farms, cell-tower leases, natural gas pipelines, oil pipelines, and CO2 pipelines. When representing clients in condemnation-related matters involving government or public utility entities, Jeff’s goal is to obtain the best result for the client, whether it involves challenging the right to condemn, negotiating the terms of any temporary and permanent easements, negotiating the location and size of the improvements to be constructed within the easement area, or maximizing the just compensation to be paid to the client under the law.
