Michael A. Bickhaus
Michael A. Bickhaus focuses his practice primarily on corporate law, estate planning, real estate, elder law, and banking law. He represents many privately held manufacturing and service companies with respect to general business advisory matters and commercial transactions, numerous banks with respect to lending and trust law matters, and many individual clients. He devotes a substantial amount of his practice to the representation of those businesses and banks, and the administration of estates and trusts, including the preparation of federal and state estate tax returns and income tax returns. He has helped several clients with implementing multi-million dollar estate plans and has successfully executed the plans, allowing those clients to pass on significant assets to their heirs free of estate and gift taxes. He has assisted his business clients with multi-million dollar contract negotiations and formations.
Mike has served on several local charitable boards and fundraisers in the past, such as the Quincy Notre Dame Foundation Annual Fund Drive, Walter Hammond Day Care and Cornerstone, and Foundations for Families f/k/a Family Service Agency of Adams County. Currently, he is President of the Chaddock Children’s Foundation, Vice Chair of the Community Foundation for the Quincy Area, and Vice President of The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy. He is also active in both St. Francis Church and School located in Quincy.
