Antitrust. We have prosecuted antitrust price-fixing cases on behalf of opt-out corporate clients located nationwide, recovering approximately one billion dollars for our clients over the past ten years.
Medical Malpractice Defense Our firm has a long-standing tradition of defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice litigation. In 2005, we obtained successive defense verdicts in cases seeking millions of dollars in damages.
Agri-business Litigation Our firm represented a mineral company in a national recall campaign of animal feed mix and related litigation in three states and Canada. We serve as national general counsel for a specialty lines insurance carrier which writes coverage for manufacturers of animal feed, and we have represented feed manufacturers in litigation on a nationwide basis.
Shareholders' Derivative Litigation We have successfully defended a shareholders' derivative lawsuit filed by a national class action plaintiff’s law firm.
Products Liability We have defended national manufacturers in products liability litigation in various courts throughout the United States.
Transportation Negligence We represented a seriously injured client involved in a head-on collision with a large commercial vehicle, which involved multiple defendants and extensive related insurance coverage litigation.
Professional Malpractice On behalf of a corporate client, we prosecuted a malpractice lawsuit against a “Big Four” accounting firm for professional negligence involving consulting services related to the client's control systems.
Construction We represented the owner of a large soybean processing facility in litigation related to the defective workmanship of a contractor hired to install a new oil distillation system.
Insurance Coverage Litigation Our firm has regularly filed declaratory judgment actions on behalf of insurance companies, and we have also represented our corporate clients in various insurance disputes against insurance companies.
Premises Liability We defended a wrongful death action brought against a corporate client arising out of a chemical explosion at a large manufacturing facility.
Commercial We have represented corporate clients in a wide array of contract, real estate, and business disputes, some involving relatively minor issues and others having millions of dollars at stake.
Agri-Business Acquisitions and Dispositions We have handled acquisitions and dispositions of companies including the acquisition of $51.5 million in edible bean businesses in a three-year period for a large privately-held agribusiness and the sale of a $300 million multi-state agribusiness.
Private Placements Our firm has conducted multi-million dollar private placements of securities for more than eight private equity funds and other ventures in an eight-year period.
Private Equity Fund Transactions We have actively represented the several private equity funds in the acquisition and disposition of more than $200 million of real estate and business assets in a seven-year period.
Public Registration and Securities Exchange Listing We have overseen the public registration and national securities exchange listing of a $1 billion plus bank holding company with multiple banks in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Florida.
Acquisitions and Sales of Manufacturing Businesses We have represented our clients in the acquisition of several tire and wheel-related businesses ranging in value from $2 to $42.5 million.
Acquisitions of Banks We have handled the acquisition of various banks and bank holding companies ranging from $3.5 to $45 million.
Health Care Transactions We have conducted the sale of a $3 million institutional pharmacy business and the acquisition of a hospital, among other transactions.
Start-Up Corporations, Limited Liability Companies and Other Entities We are also regularly engaged in the formation of start-up corporations, limited liability companies, and other business entities throughout the country.
